1) Bought the Game of the Year edition (which had all three) but started with Prophecies and played into the desert before I bought EotN (to get heroes) or did the quests to access Factions & Nightfall. I've now completed all 3 campaigns & EotN.

2) Yes

3) Yes - One I play, one my husband plays, and two mules. So 4 total.

4) I don't even remember the last time I used a henchman unless it was required... I don't like that I can't customize their builds/weapons/armors.

5) A resounding 'YES I like it!' It drives me nuts when I'm forced to run nearly everywhere. I want to play the game, not waste time running between locations.

6) None - and I've only been playing since October 2010.

7) No

8) I would have continued to play GW had there been a subscription fee - even "as is" without further expansions beyond what exists (Factions, Nightfall, EotN). I enjoy GW just that much. I've never seen a pay-to-play that I was truly interested in playing beyond the first trial month they usually come with.

9) I've worked on acquiring K/L points for my title, but that's as much notice as I've taken of either.

10) I don't like PvP at all.

11) Heroes were part of the game when I began playing. I LOVE the 7-hero party option!

12) Since all I play is PvE, yes.

13) It was already in place when I began. But I will say that it wasn't until I'd been playing for several months that I really got interested in HoM and realized I wanted to fill it for GW2... and that definitely impacted how I play. Also, when I did get interested in it, I thought I'd just do 30/50 in the HoM. Now I want all 50, and so that too is impacting how I play considerably.

14) I love this game. Even without the HoM, I'd still be playing.

15) Oh you betcha'!!!

1) Prophecies.
2) Yes.
3) There are three accounts in my household - 2 played, 1 storage.
4) Dont like henchmen so I stick to heroes. I prefer the ability to flag individually as well as having more control over their skills.
5) Free travel is one of the features I do love about this game and in others (Rift, Aion) I have missed it. I find it impacts on my willingness to travel in order to conserve funds.
6) Titles are a large attraction to be being a completionist by nature. Most of my characters have several.
7) PvP isnt my style tbh but I do occasionally enjoy watching GvG.
8) I think the lack of a sub is part of what kept me coming back. When I paid for a monthly game I often felt... obliged to get my moneys worth. It burned me out quickly and I ended up resenting it. GW is always there if I want to go back. The freedom of not feeling I had to play meant I could play as and when I wanted.
9) The faction storylines were enjoyable but no, they didnt impact on me directly. The towns are so dominated by heavy duty faction farming guilds its impossible to feel like Im having any effect.
10) Actually JQ is one of the only PvP areas I play on a regular basis. I do enjoy the 'drop in and play' feel of it. Its not dominated by pro players so being kinda sucky is normal. I can enjoy it without feeling pressured to play the right build in the right way etc.
11) Heck yeah! I do enjoy the freedom of coming on and doing something I want to do when I want to do it. So far Olias has never rage-quit because i had to run to the bathroom... but I can still socialise via the main towns.
12) Yeah actually. Only my main toon does HM on a regular basis but the majority of my characters dont. Its a nice addition but not required to keep my interest.
13) Not greatly. I have considered liquidating my wealth to try and fill up more points (you cant take it with you!) but thats about it.
14) Festivals I always attend and I do still enjoy coming on to quest and run through missions. I find GW's storyline very replayable and enjoy moving multiple characters through it.
15) Im likely to preorder any collectors edition.

1) Factions
2) Yes
3) Yes, 3
4) Will only play with other people and/or heroes. No henchies
5) Map travel is a necessity to me
6) I got GWAMM before HoM, so big impact
7) No, n/a
8) I was intrigued by the buy to play, but no, I wouldn't subscribe
9) No
10) AB was fun because of the mechanics
11) Yes, in a way. I liked tinkering with bars
12) No
13) No. HoM complete before it's release (of the calculator)
14) No
15) Yes

1) Complete collection directly
2) Yes
3) No
4) I prefer heroes in general, but I choose henchies when I need something ready quick on a new char. Oh, and in Imperial Sanctum!
5) I love it and seriously miss it where not present.
6) Almost none. I use them to keep track of what I do and as I'm pretty much a completionist I tend to complete titles too, but I never work for titles themselves
7) No, never did GvG
8) Despite loving this game, I would/could never play a game with fees, any.
9) I like the allegiance thing lorewise and I like "helping" the side I chose, but I'm not into PVP so can't have any influence on control.
10) Never tried them for my dislike for PVP, but I feel they're the most interesting formats and I'll play them someday, I like them cause very peculiar
11) I didn't play pre-heroes but sure, my personal passage from henchies to heroes was positive, and even more was the implementation of 7-heroes party.
12) Probably bit less, but you can never know
13) I might as well say the HoM doesn't exist for me, I only use it as an armour-look-preview place.
14) See above. I play for the game itself.
15) Not on realease nor ever ever!

  1. Prophecies campaign.
  2. Yes.
  3. Five accounts.
  4. The henchmen are fine, though I mostly exclusively use heroes these days.
  5. I probably would like the game less if map travel wasn't there.
  6. It really didn't impacted my game play. My main char already completed the story line of Prophecies, covered 89% of Tyian cartographer, capped maybe 70% of the elite skills in Prophecies.
  7. Have absolute zero interest in GvG.
  8. Only affect it may have is limiting the number of accounts I play.
  9. I honestly have little to no interest in the PvP aspect of the kurzick/luxon allegiances. (Now, if they offered alternate versions of same/similar PvE quests in the same area (based on which factions who owes it, that would be something I would be interested in.))
  10. Have absolutely zero interest in GvG.
  11. Yes.
  12. Yes.
  13. No – I was already on that that track of earning titles before HoM came out.
  14. My HoM was filled out a long time ago -- I still play, mainly for the Zaishen challenge quests, Nick's weekly pressies, getting the remaining titles missing from my main account, and working on my 3rd GWAMM.
  15. Absolutely, though not sure how may collector's editions to start with. lol

1) I bought the Complete Collection, so I got all the games at once.
2) Yes. (See above.)
3) Nope, just the one.
4) I use heroes, not henchmen. I like that you can play by yourself, and not have to wait for pugs, but it can make the game feel lonely.
5) Its useful, and in a game like GW where you're constantly jumping around to meet/trade/run things, it'd be ridiculous to have any other transportation system. However, I do miss mounts & flight paths as used in WoW, they make you feel far more immersed in the game.
6) I hadn't even heard of GW before the HoM was introduced.
7) Nope - I've played skirmishes with guildies, but never a proper match.
8) I played GW because I had just quit WoW, and wanted to play a new MMO - I was either going to play Aion or GW, and when I saw the Complete Collection on amazon for £15, I just thought screw it, I'll try this game. If there was a sub fee, I probably wouldn't have even looked at it, as I actually preferred aion's graphics & how similar it was to WoW, (at the time. )
9) Not really. I've never even considered it. Because you can just jump between the two sides/two sides' areas, its not a competitive thing at all.
10) I like JQ, because its an easy & fun way to farm balthazar points for zKeys.
11) As I said, when I joined the game, heroes were already in use, but the change from 3 heroes -> 7 heroes made playing sooo much nicer.
12) After playing through the story of each campaign, I started on farming for HoM, so the question doesn't really count for me - if there was no HM, I would have still played the PvE content I needed to, it would have just been a lot easier. ^^
13) Well, the fact that all I do now is farm stuff for HoM, I guess that's a yes.
14) Only ever talking to people, the rest of it is HoM. Coming in later to the game than the majority of the community means I have to catch up more quickly.
15) I've been following that game long enough that -not- buying it would be madness.

1) What was the first GW game you bought? (Proph/Factions/Nightfall)
Prophecies
2) Do you currently own all games including eye of the north.
Yes
3) Do you have more than one GW account? If so, how many
3.
4) Do you like using henchmen in the party or does it annoy you how for example you can't control what they do.
I like henchmen, useful and missions with other people get annoying sometimes.
5) Is the map travel feature something that you like about the game/If you have played games without this feature do you miss not having it?
I love the map travel feature, so much faster !!
6) How much of an impact did titles have on your play style/how much you played? (Pre-Hall of monuments rewards).
Pre-HoM rewards, titles were whatever to me.
7) Have you ever taken part in GvG tournaments? If so did you enjoy the way it worked and did you care about GvG rankings?
Only for the snowball tournies, I cared about the gvg rankings, cause it was fun to watch my guild's rank go up and down as we played.
8) Was the fact that Guild Wars is a buy to play game encourage you to buy the game and would you continue to play if there had been any amount of subscription fee (removing the fact that this may have brought more updates into the game).
I wouldn't of played if it were a subscription game. Good game, but not enough content to waste money each month.
9) Do/did you enjoy the Kurzick and Luxon allegiances and did it encourage you to play more to improve your titles and control of the world map?
I loved it back when Alliance Battles were popular. Now, it's just another title to grind for me.
10) Do you like the PvP formats introduced with Factions (e.g. FA/JQ) and if so, why?
I don't mind them, but it gets boring after a bit.
11) Did the introduction of heroes make playing more enjoyable for you?
Way more enjoyable, less dumb skills on henchies and I fail less missions now.
12) If hard mode had never been released, do you think you would have played through PvE content as much.
Probably not. HM is pretty much all I do.
13) Did your game play style change with the release of the Hall of Monuments awards?
Yeah, I started doing more speedclears and grinding a lot more.
14) Do you still play for any reason besides filling up your Hall of Monuments?
Yep, for friends. Only reason I play now.
15) Will you be buying Guild Wars 2 on release?
I already have it pre-ordered.

A bit late maybe for the report but anyways:

1) phophecy's+Eye of the north
2) Yes
3) Yes 2
4) The lack of control isn't the reason why I rarely use henchman but more that my heroes outclass them.
5) Yes
6) got 25 titles before HoM
7) Nope
8) Yes, it was the only reason I picked GW at the time (being new to the mmo genre). I've played mmo's with monthly fee's in the past and think that they are a big ripoff. the amount of new content/support is almost the same level as gw has.
9) Yes and no. I like the split and the fact that you make your own decission and not the the storyteller. But the real impact on the world was too low.
10) JQ no, FA and AB yes. JQ cause of the bots and boringness, the others are fun to play
11) I started playing after the release of Eye of the north so I have never known any better.
12) no not as much
13) nope, I just played the game and got 40/50
14) yes, but the last few weeks only to pass the time before gw2
15) yeah (I preordered, I was too late for the prepurchase)
